1.1 What is slime? What are its core ingredients and how does it work?

Slime is a non-Newtonian fluid made by cross-linking polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) glue with a tiny amount of borate ions (from borax or saline solution). The resulting three-dimensional polymer network traps water and air bubbles, giving slime its unique ability to stretch slowly yet resist sudden force. We use formaldehyde-free PVA glue, micro-dose borate activator (< 300 ppm), cosmetic-grade pigments and fragrances, plus food-grade glycerin for softness. See our detailed blog post for the full chemistry breakdown and safety standards we follow.

1.2 Is handcrafted slime toxic?

No. When produced correctly, slime is non-toxic and meets international toy-safety limits for boron (< 300 ppm). We never use industrial borax “over-activator,” harsh solvents, or heavy-metal colorants.

1.3 Can children play safely with slime?

Yes—under supervision. Ages 3–6 should be monitored to avoid ingestion; ages 7+ can play independently. Always wash hands before and after play and avoid contact with eyes or mouth.

1.4 I have sensitive skin. Could slime trigger allergies?

All ingredients are cosmetic-grade and skin-safe, but rare allergies may exist (e.g., fragrance oils). Test a pea-sized amount on the inside of your wrist for 15 minutes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and contact us.

1.5 Why do you keep borax levels so low?

Borate ions are essential for the stretch-and-squish texture, but excessive amounts can cause dryness or irritation. Our lab checks every batch so you get perfect drizzles without skin stress.
